November freebies and discounts include free food, entertainment, and samples of new and existing products and services. The month of November offers many discount opportunities in stores and restaurants, in anticipation of the coming holidays. Consumers can also access an assortment of freebies in addition to these discounts. Free stuff is offered to voters on Election Day, and to military personnel on Veteran's Day.

2014 November Freebies, Coupons and Discount Offers

  • The Bank of America Museums On Us program extends free museum admission to customers on the first weekend of each month. In November 2014, the Bank of America free museum weekend days will be on November 1 and 2. During November 2013, the Bank of America free museum weekend fell on November 2 and 3.[2] Museums participating in the program include the Children's Museum of Phoenix, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Florida Holocaust Museum, and the Adler Planetarium in Chicago.[3]
  • Museums across the U.S. are also offering free admission to the public on select days in November. The Denver Art Museum was open for free on November 2, 2013.[4] The Art Insititute of Chicago extends free admission to all Illinois residents on Thursday afternoons in November. In 2014, these days will fall on November 6, 13, 20, and 27.[5] The Henry Ford Museum offered free admission to all active and retired members of the military and their families on November 11 in celebration of Veterans Day.[6]
  • Target sponsors free museum admission days for families during November as part of the "Target Free Second Tuesdays" program. For example, at the Children's Museum of Atlanta, families were able to visit the museum for free on November 12, 2013, from 1 p.m. until closing.[7]

2013 Black Friday Deals

Black Friday, which takes place the day after Thanksgiving each year, marks the first day of the Christmas shopping season. Stores and malls sometimes open as early as midnight, offering sales on tech products, clothing, jewelry, and beauty items to consumers. In addition to these sales, some stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues offer freebies to customers.

Amazon.com held its annual Amazon Black Friday Deals Week during the week of November 24 through November 30, 2013. Every hour, the website featured a new set of "lightning" deals, which included best-selling retail items such as laptop computers, jewelry, clothing, and children's toys. Shoppers may sign up to receive daily deal newsletters, which alert them to the featured sale items each day.[8]

Staples also hosted a Staples Black Friday Deals Week from November 24 through November 30. Online shoppers could get substantial discounts on select items such as iPads, Kindles, and computer printers. The in-store Staples Black Friday sale began at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Selected sale items included Kindle Fires for as low as $79 and Toshiba laptops for as low as $249.99.[9]
