Richmond Zoo Coupons and Free Offers

  • Children under the age of two receive free admission.[1]
  • Visitors can purchase select Entertainment Coupon Books and access a coupon good for one free child admission ticket with the purchase of an adult admission ticket to the Richmond Zoo.

Richmond Zoo Annual Pass Discounts

Visitors who purchase an annual membership/pass to the Richmond Zoo receive free admission all year. Additional perks include a coupon for a free snow cone, a zoo treat cup, and a budgie bird feeding stick.[2] The cost of a membership is $42 for adults, $39 for seniors 60 and over, and $29 for children 2-11. Each membership is valid through the final day of the year, December 31. Memberships for the zoo also go on sale from time to time, usually alongside a holiday like Valentine's Day.

About the Richmond Zoo

The Metro Richmond Zoo, also called the Richmond Zoo, is located in Richmond, Virginia, and is home to more than 1,500 animals covering 148 species.[3] Some of the animals at the zoo include giraffe, kangaroos, cheetahs, ostrich, white rhinos, emus, alpacos, Bighorn sheep, African lions, and Bengal tigers.[4]

In addition, the zoo provides a variety of activities for guests, including Otter Feeding, Penguin Feeding, Siamang Feeding, and the opportunity to hand feed the giraffes. The cost is $2 per cup of food. Visitors may also feed other animals as well, including deer, goats, llamas, camels, zebras, antelope, and elk. This is also $2 per cup.[5]

The Richmond Zoo is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sundays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, New Year's Day, and during inclement weather caused by snow and ice. Admission prices are $15.75 for adults, $14.75 for seniors 60 and over, and $10.75 for children 2-11.[1]

In addition to animal exhibits and encounters, the zoo also offers rides like the Jungle Carousel, the Safari Sky Ride, the Safari Train Ride Tour, and the Treetop Zoofari. In addition, concessions and souvenirs are available, as are a variety of guest services.[5] This includes first aid areas and picnic tables.[6]
