The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is set against the backdrop of the 16th century, and offers jousting, comedy, artisans, and costumed characters. The festival is open six weekends each year during the months of August and September. The 2014 festival takes place Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day from August 23 through September 28. Operating hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.[1]

About the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival

The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival offers period food, entertainment, games, and shopping. Admission prices are $17.95 for adults and $8 for children 5-12. Free admission is available for children under the age of 5. Parking is available free on-site, and the festival is open rain or shine.[2]

The festival welcomes over 70,000 visitors a year.[7] Each year the festival also plays host to several Themed Weekends, including Opening Weekend, Children's Weekend, Oktoberfest, a weekend focused on wine, an Irish weekend, and a Celtic Fling.[8]
