About Franklin Institute

The Franklin Institute is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The museum is also closed for the Franklin Awards Day each year. The 2014 date is April 24.[4]

Admission to the Franklin Institute includes the museum's exhibits, one show at the planetarium, and live science demonstrations. The cost of admission is $16.50 for adults and $12.50 for children ages 3-11. Children under the age of three are admitted free.[3]

  • Visitors can purchase an annual membership and receive free admission for a year. Additional benefits include discounts to IMAX films, 10 percwent off at on-site stores and restaurants, discounts for traveling exhibits, and free admission to over 250 science museums.[9]
